This is where I live..The sunset district of San Francisco, you can also see the Richmond district too..If you read in a past post, there was a member who described the Great highway, well, thats the beginning of it. The big green is the bottom of Golden Gate Park. There's a better view of it all, but that's for another post.

Crissy Field..this is the Bay side of the old Presidio. You can see the Palace of Fine Arts dome off in the distance. Off in the distance, that lower road on the right was part of the T-Mobile International route. (well, part of it) - I have tons of race pics too!

The Presidio, this is the exit of the Arguello St gate. Off on the right you can see the parage grounds.

This is the hill that goes up to the Arguello St. gate. Not that long of a hill. : )

Arguello Street. Nice Bike lane. Too many cars if you ask me! This leads to Golden Gate Park.

This is Golden Gate park. On the left is the Academy of Science. On Sundays, they close off this entire street and about 2 miles down for joggers, skaters, cyclist, and pedestrians.

Well, I hope everyone likes the pics..I figured it was about time that I posted on here.
Here are some of the stats for the ride.

-15.3 miles total trip
-Avg Speed: 14.3 mph
-Max Speed: 38.4 mph
-Max Temp that day was: 62 F
-Low Temp that day was: 52 F (its winter)
The reason why it was so clear was because there was a really cold wind coming off the ocean.

It's a really nice and easy ride. Good for enjoying the weather. There aren't too many hills for this route. I'd say about 4 hills, ranging anywhere in length from 200 yards to 1 mile long. Not too sure about how to judge the grade of the hills though. There are many points along the route where you can branch off to make it a longer or shorter ride. The hill where I hit 38 mph goes right past the Golden Gate Bridge parking lot. You can take that exit and hop right on the bridge, or you can go though the Presidio and to the Marina.
If anyone is interested I have some good pics of the T-Mobile ride. I have a good one of Lance drafting his teammate down Broadway, one of him about to climb Post ( I think) = P I have a side view of Vinokourov (oOOoO) And a really good pic of one of the Ofoto members.
Well..if anyone has any suggestions or comments, let me have em. Thanks everyone.

I recently moved to San Diego from S.F. and I really miss it. Brought back some great memories.

Funny. One of the pictures is from where I got hit by a car. It's the one that is overlooking Crissy Field and the Palace of the Fine Arts. Although, that one fo the memories I would rather forget.

Thanks!

Yup, SF's beautiful all right. But instead of the usual bridge/ocean/headlands stuff it might be nice to show *other* parts of the City.

Perhaps I shall do an illustrated ride report of my commute....

Lol--other parts of the city. Okay...tell me what you guys wanna see? I dont usually ride downtown. Too many damn cars. Well, tell me what you guys wanna see..Broadway, (strip clubs)..HP (ghetto)..Embarcadero(downtown)...I have another ride down Skyline (Pacific Coast ride) I'm still a novice, just getting the hang of road cycling. None of my punk ass friends ride, and it seems like no one I know likes to ride. They're all into cars, (rice-rockets), clubbin', drinking', weed, fashion, and all that other *hit. I need riding buddies!! ARGH!!!!
Well there is this one gurl that works at the LBS....xandre
Dec 9, 2003 2:17 PM
I know she rides, but I'm too chickenshit to ask. Well, gimme another couple of months to drop some weight..and get the balls to ask.. but in the meantime. You buggers better stay away from her! I'm not saying which LBS either! *cough Avenue cough* STAY AWAY!!! SHE'S MINE!
Better ask her quick -BowWow

Or haven't you heard? Road riding damages your balls - if ya ain't got enough balls now ya never will! LOL!

xandre,

You pictures pretty much sums up the second half of my daly commute in from Pacifica.

Since I live just south of the City I usually ride in the Half Moon Bay Area up all the hills. If you are interested let me know and I can show you the best routes down on the Penninsula along Skyline.

What is your usual ride down Slyline.
