I love the handlebar, keeps my wrists in neutral and offloads the carpal canal.

I know, they don't fit the bike and components and they are too heavy. I need professional help.

hey rodriguez, thanks for the pics. very nice. tell how she rides. interesting choice of components. where did you get that bar tape? it looks like you wrapped it over regular bar tape or did you use specialized phat bar? i changed my mind on the merckx and went for the c-50 instead. mostly because of the geometry. again, beautifull bike. where are you located?

I've ridden a c-40 and I liked that too. I think that what the compact geometry does is to lower the center of gravity of the bike so standing up, moving the bike side to side, etc is less apparent to the rider. Secondly, it feels rock steady, almost like i have to try to make it hesitate . I think this has to do with the wheelbase and relaxed seat angle. The c-40 has a more "square" race geometry. On the other hand, maybe because of the lower center of gravity (pure speculation) the bike does respond very intuitively when turning, leaning, etc. The best way to summarize it is that I quickly forget about the bike, position, manouvering, etc, and find myself concentrating on effort, the ride itself, or just daydreaming. As far as the bar tape, it is wrapped over a thin white vynil tape. I chose easton stem because the MXM tubes are made by easton. Same for the bar, plus the price was good for a carbon bar and the angle of the handlebar keeps your wrists in a neutral position. At age 48 this matters a lot.The Delta brakes are there for sentimental reasons, but I also think they look cool. I'm in Baltimore, which has beautiful riding areas. BTW, how does the c-50 compare to the c-40?
Nice bike stand ya got there ! nmsuperdog

Great job. Old style tape and Delta brakes really set off the bike. Fantastic job...

Extroaordinay bike ... I've got a Team Sc, and love it. I also use the same stem (but with Deda 215 non-anatomic bars). What fork does the MCM use. I originally had the MErckx fork on my Team Sc but had some problems with it and replaced it with a Reynolds Ouzo Pro Integrated.

I had problems with my first headset(Profile design). We switched it and problems stopped.
