"Dear Forum Readers,

I am in the process of resurrecting the cycling forums using a new and vastly improved format. I hope to have something ready in the coming days but it may take me up to two weeks (ugh). Please continue to check back here and/or on the Velo News Tech Talk forum for additional announcements.

They didn't want a moderator..davet

.. because they wanted a forum with free and open discussion of all aspects of bicycling, not just Serotta. The forum was designed not to be a shill for Serotta but as a gathering place for people of a common interest (bicycling) that was sponsored by Serotta.

Some fantastic discussions and debates went on there. Very educated and erudite posters were common and the topics were as diverse as the posters. Non-Serotta owners and posters were welcomed. Many personal friendships were made.

The Serotta forum will be back but in a slightly different format, hopefully that will squelch the childish and often vulgar trolls that became too frequent.
they could have used volunteer moderatorskenyee

I'm sure some of the trusted ones like dbrk or dnovo would have made great moderators. I suggested this to them after they shut the forum down.

The discussions were very deep at times and I learned a lot from some of the folks there...

It's not about the $$ since Serotta doesn't pay for the upkeep or implementation of the phorum....

As there are no ads and Serotta does not pay for it, then who pays the bill for the forum? It cost money for bandwidth, software, hosting etc... someone must be paying?
