New Zealand, need to rent a bike(2 posts)

New Zealand, need to rent a bikebikerbob
Dec 2, 2003 6:24 PM
The wife and I are going to Wellington for three weeks in January. As I booked flights on Continental and Air N.Z. I can't get vouchers to have the bike travel for free. Are there any shops in Wellington that rent road bikes? I'm looking forward to the trip, as winter arrived in Vermont today. We had to stop working as the wind chill dropped into the below zero F range.

Thanks,
Bob

When flying internationally on AirNZ your bike should fly for free, last time I flew back home on United mine did. You should call AirNZ directly and check with them, ditto for any US domestic flights connecting to an international leg.

If you do need to rent there are a few bike shops in downtown Wellington as well as some bike clubs:

Note: The MTB riding in Wellington is fantastic as well.

Restaurants: Go to ICONZ, The White House, Boulcott St Bistro, Strawberry Fare (Deserts)

Pubs/Bars: Go to Molly Malones, The Back Bencher, The Malthouse.

hmmm.... I'll stop cause I'm getting home sick.
