PAHRUMP'S Name:
The Southern Paiutes Indians, who occupied the Pahrump Valley centuries ago, named it "Pah" - meaning water - and "Rimpi" - meaning stone or rock. Pah Rimpi became Pahrump, the Paiute description for springs or flowing waters emerging from rock.
