The performance catalog has their Forte bar and stem at half the price of seemingly similar quality name brands. ARe they good?

I just bought the Forte Pro stem. Seems very well made and very light. I installed it in a carbon steerer and had to clean up some sharp edges in the stem but other than that it is great looking and does it job very well. And you can't beat the price. I don't have any experience with their bars.

If you are not hung up about the label, nothing wrong with these items.

Even say "made in Italy" on them. Bars only have one groove on the front edge, which is nice for those using Shimano STI.

The new stem looks very nice also but seems a little light to me. Super light bars and stems make me nervous. Made in Taiwan so it's not an ITM made part.

Most ITM stuff that makes its way over here; is made in Taiwan, shipped 'un-finished' to Italy - then finished and marked there -- hmmm -- well where was it made? who really made it - ITM or KALLOY?
Does it really matter if it works well?
Depends on who made it this week....TFerguson

I have found that with Performance house, you can get something you really like, order another one of the same model and get a totally different piece of crap.
