|Please give me good reasons not to bid on this bike at the current price
My current reasons are as follows
1) My first choice is a lugged Atlantis or a something like a custom Vanilla. This purchase will delay the custom frame by about a year
2) I would at least need to swap out the cranks, bb and bars and most likely the saddle, increasing cost.
3) Not my favarorite color
4) Doesn't have rack and fender mounts.
Better yet someone else please bid the auction past the $1k mark.

|then you will still buy the Atlantis or the Vanilla (my first choice)later on.
Consider it your effort to stimulate the economy.
Seriously, wait. I don't think $800 is an awesome deal. Ok, but not awesome. Not to mention the fact that this is not the bike you want.

|Those two are two beeyootiful, awesome bikes. Forget aboout the Kelly.
Where can I get matching black fenders with white pin stripes for my black touring bike?

|Buy the Planet Bike black fenders and get some white tape. They work great and I didn't have fender braze-ons on the frame. Just went to the hardware store and bought some C clamps with rubber protection for about $.50 each.

|But I do thank you for your help.
Even though it is not what I really want for mostly superficial reasons (TIGed and not lugged or brazed, high BB)
It does satisfy my requirements for a relaxed angle and more importantly lets me buy a second bike relatively inexpensively. It also will allow me to convert my current bike to a fixie, figure out my fit and then go for the dream lugged custom in a few years.
I will continue to ride my current 6spd Peugeot until I am ready for my "dream" bike.

|BB height is not a superficial parameter. A high BB can make the bike feel unresponsive, as if it is riding in a groove in the road. Lower BB's are part of the magic formula which make the modern retro-bikes (like Rivendells and Vanillas) such pleasures to ride.|

|I don't want to look like a poser riding a non-Kelly with this sweet jersey.
I test rode a knobby x yesterday, but it was to small (54). It was cheaper, but older.
