|First roadbike purchase - Advice needed.....||006_007|

|OK, I have finally narrowed it down to 2 possibilities for my first roadbike purchase.
My LBS is trying very hard to get rid of their 2003 stuff, and in particular there are a pair of Oryx road bikes that are just my size (and price range)
1. 2003 Oryx 2200 - Full 105, carbon fork, aluminum frame, Alex a class 300 wheels/hubs, asking $1500 CDN
2. 2003 Oryx 2300 - Full Ultegra, carbon fork, aluminum fram with carbon seatstays, Mavic caosmin elite wheels/hubs, asking $1800 CDN
Both fit me the same, The 2200 looks more stealth with the black paint and black 105, but the appeal of ultegra for $300 more is really working for me. Any opinions on which I should go with? are the carbon seatstays worth considering as an upgrade in the $300 difference? what about the wheelsets?

|Offer $1500 for the 2300, and work it out with the dealer - you may get a better deal! The Ultegra and the wheelset are worth the extra bux, but ya gotta go with how it makes you feel. I think you'll be happier with the carbon seatstays, better wheelset, and Ultegra. Post some pix!|

|I have yet to see an LBS sell an ultegra equipped bike for under $2000 CDN in my area, especially such a recent model. Oryx has a good reputation, so if you like the bike, buy it.
If I came across such a deal in my bike shopping, I'd snatch it up ASAP.
