I have a DSL modem and it's really noticable, especially when they pop up when you back out of a thread.
Yeah, but they also pay for it.russw19

I don't like it any more than you do, but those banners pay the bills and allow us to have these discussions on a free board.

But damn, they sure as heck are annoying!

The banners are annoying at times, but they pay the cost of keeping this site going. It is a fact of life. A small price to pay in my opinion.

But the good thing is that Competitive Cyclist are a bunch of great people trying to make a living serving the cycling community. I much rather these people advertising than a bunch of 'scam artists'.

Yeah, I am annoyed by the ads too. And yeah, they are a darn good group over there at CC.
Question is, how much will their business suffer as a result of these ads?
I vote we all click on itbiketillyapuke

That way the site will get lots of money (they usually work on a per click basis.) It's the least we could do, really.
I wonder if they've sold any Dogma Egos yet...geeker

I made some e-mail inquiries to CC once, and they seem like good people. I'll cut 'em slack for the ads.
If they sold it, that's the only one they could sell.russw19

They got the only one in the US to be imported yet. So if they sold it, that's it for a few more weeks. I think the next ones scheduled to hit the US aren't going to get here until after christmas. I asked my Pinarello rep about it.

And for anyone interested... the Dogma is a super sweet bike. The Dogma Ego was only intended to be a show bike/limit run bike. They were planning on making 25 of them and from what I understand Competitve Cyclist made them an offer they couldn't refuse for the Dogma Ego on display at Interbike. But the offer was way high which also explains the super high price tag. I wouldn't expect that more than 10 of these bikes ever get sold in the US and I bet of those 10, only 1 person will be crazy enough to ride it on the road.

I just finnished doing bussness with them on some Reynolds stratus wheels, and I must say that they have the best customer service of anyone I have ever dealt with. The banners don't bother me, since they are from someplace with such good service. I am VERY impressed with them. They went far above and far beyond what I could have ever hoped from anyone.
