| '04 dura ace | soulsurfer104 Nov 20, 2003 4:56 PM | | wow. those are some FUGLY cranks. shimano, what the he11 were you thinking??? |
| Have you seen them in person? | kushogun Nov 20, 2003 5:48 PM | | Or, just in pictures. I work at a bike shop, and everyone who I show the cranks to tell me, "wow, I hated them in pictures, but now that I see them in person I love them" or something to that effect. They seem like works of art IMHO. Super smooth lines, super super stiff, lighter than they look, and a departure from the norm. I can understand if some people are purests, and prefer the look of a narrower crank arm with standard rings. But take a look at them in person, and if you can, give them a try, and it might change your mind. |

| Cycling plus said | Tmw Nov 21, 2003 2:32 AM | | Harsh things about a lot of the 04 stuff mainly due to the price but the cranks/bb scored a 10/10 which is very very very rare.
Cheers

| re: '04 dura ace | mainframe Nov 21, 2003 4:49 AM | | Held them in my hand at the LBS yesterday. Man, talk about light. Overall, very nice looking, just glad I don't need a 10 spd setup. :) |
| Also, talk about function... | kevinacohn Nov 21, 2003 7:04 AM | | When I test rode a bike that has new Dura-Ace, I could feel the difference in power transfer and especially shifting. What Shimano says is absolutely true... the shifting is more powerful and more smooth than ever. |
| Coming from a Campy guy | mapei boy Nov 21, 2003 12:54 PM | | I've held the new Dura Ace cranks in my hands. They're beautiful to look at. They're feather lite. Wow. |
| still ugly | soulsurfer104 Nov 22, 2003 5:46 PM | | im sure they are super-stiff but they are still ugly. they look like they belong on a downhill bike. yuck. |
