I left after major rain was through, but it was flooded!

There was a stretch of road on my commute route, where I end up riding through above knee deep water for ~150 yards. Nothing beats the view of front hub disappearing under water :)
Dry and 70 degrees..but I WAS on the rollers!(nm)merckx56

It was a pretty nice ride home. Warm, with broken clouds. I left about 6:30 pm and managed to get my commute done between rain squalls. There is a short section of the Mt. Vernon trail that floods, so I was navigating through about 6 inches of dark, stanky water for a bit. The rain started belting down again after I got home.
I stayed at work till 7pm...biknben

It started in my area around 4:30 and was really nasty for a while. After the front moved through the winds let up and I took to the road. Streets were flooded but not as bad as what you describe. All theose townships that let you put the leaves out in the road were cursing up a storm.

At one point, I was forced onto the sidewalk by a flooded road and even then my pedals were under water at the downstroke.
Dry, but I had to take the car.djg
