i'm getting a clicking/ticking sound when i get out of the saddle. i don't think it's the skewers or the valve extenders. anyone out there know? please help. it only happens with this wheelset. also does anyone have decals for deep section rims?

Loose spokes?
Are your Cabones tubular or clincher? I use tubes with 60mm valve stems on my clinchers. No extenders needed. There are also 80mm stem tubes available.

clinchers, i'll try the longer stems. do you wrap stems with tape so they don't click?

Have not had clicking except when the spokes were loose. Have not wrapped the stems. When I install new tubes with 60mm stems (Performance tubes) I have to use the threaded lock nut to pull enough of the stem through the rim to get a pump or CO2 inflator on the stem. After inflating I usually remove the lock nut. The Performance house brand Ultra Lite 60mm stem tubes are my favorite to use with the Carbones.
My rear Carbone failed this year (1998 model). A spoke eyelet broke and the spoke was tightened directly against the rim eventually causing the rim to crack. MAVIC will replace the wheel for $400, about half price. I was using these wheels for everyday riding and training, probably not a good idea in the long run. I plan to reserve them for time trials in the future.
