Final reminder re Saturday's St. Louis RBR gatheringvindicator

For those who haven't been on the boards in the last couple of weeks, please do a search for "louis" and you'll find the older threads on this. If you can make it to a ride in St. Louis Saturday, we'd love to have you. 50 miles, hilly, but pace shouldn't be brutal as everyone's claiming to be out of shape (my longest ride since doing 98 miles on Sept. 7 at the MS150 has been 28 miles, J says he hasn't been riding much road, etc., etc.). We'll see who's sandbagging (not that this is a "let's see who we can drop" ride).

Arrive 10:15 am in front of Wild Horse Grill off of Long Road in Chesterfield - between Chesterfield Airport road and the railroad tracks.

There will likely NOT be any restroom facilities open at the start, so TCB before you leave or en route to the start.

The weather forecast has now been updated and the chance for rain downgraded from 40% to 10%. Let's hope that holds! Run "Chesterfield, MO" through weather.com tomorrow night or Sat. morning for your final update.

Most of the route is wooded and we dip into some cool valleys, so plan on temps at times being 5 degrees or so below the "official" temp. Also plan for intermittent opportunities to really stoke the furnace as we go vertical.

My daughter won her soccer game last night, so she is in the next round of the playoffs but for unrelated reasons they're trying to move the game from Saturday morning to another day/time. So there's still a chance I'll have to bag, but it sounds like other locals will be there. I've sent all the data to J, who will be printing and distributing maps and cue sheets. The course isn't THAT tough to follow, but it doesn't really allow for you to just stick the map in your jersey pocket and forget it, either. A cue clip or similar handlebar device is recommended.

See you there!
You all enjoy.... :(4bykn

I figure it'll take at least a nine hour time investment and I don't have that much to spare Saturday. Maybe we can do this another time too. I expect to see photos posted here, and be safe and have fun.

Ride in Peace......Mike

Sorry you won't be able to make it. On the issue of photos, I do not own a digicam so hopefully someone else will appoint themselves official ride photographer...

Appreciate you guys doing the organization work for the St. Louis ride. I hope to join you Saturday. Like a few of the others, I am over three hours away, but I would really like to meet some of you who I only know from this board. I may bring a friend to keep me company at the back if the pace gets very fast. Hope the forecast holds, as I'm not a wet weather rider anymore. Look forward to seeing you Saturday.
Wish I could hop on a plane and join you.RoyGBiv

I guess I missed this yesterday.

I'll be there barring something totally unforseen between 10:30 Friday morning and 10:00 Saturday.

Later.
