yep, DFL 11/2 'cross race. i was practicing for my 11/9 DFL. all that smoke and drank since the september double has me brangin' up the rear in the B race. only doubles i've been doing recently are double whoppers with cheese. at least this weekend i wasn't lapped. actually my finish was right behind the C winner, so i s'pose i oughta be ridin' B anyhow.

anybody got any position criticism, good or bad? it's a fine shot for it. fwiw this is the bike i did all those stupid illinois brevets on--comfy up to 250 miles in a day, setup as shown, 'cept with a brooks saddle (koobi silver pictured).
You look marvelous, but I fear picnic table is gaining on youDale Brigham

Just kidding, J. Your position looks textbook perfect to me. Very manly, yet somehow, sensitive.

Congrats on racing cross. Doing it takes all the courage. You are putting the Surly through it's paces, from brevets to sprints. Cross bikes are truly jack-of-all-trades. And, you, too, of course, are one versatile cyclist.

Unfortunately, it looks like I'll miss the St. Louis RBR ride this Saturday. My lovely wife requests that I be home all that day, and I cannot refuse her. She's gone all week on business until then, so she makes a persuasive case.

I wish you all well on the ride. Please convey my deepest regrets to the RBR crew.

Remember, there are no stupid brevets -- only stupid randonneurs (that would be us).

Your Pal,

Dale

That's what I did on Sunday, my 1st cross race. I did it on a SS w/ not enough clearance so that mud caked up my front wheel. Cross is hard enough with a wheel that spins, let alone with one that doesn't. Live and learn. I'll do better next time, and I'll have gears =) BTW-your position looks fine. I'd get a cross bike but I fear I would be slain by my wife. Going to convert the fixie Gitane to a crosser. Pics to follow when she's done.

I think you look great for a guy that is so willing to rip someone off of a few measly dollars!! Keep the money for a gym membership, you need it!

Also, be sure to pass on to your young one the important values in life. Lie, cheat, steal and never look back.
Do these shorts make me look fat? hehehe...rwbadley
