GOOD cycling press from MemphisSpecialTater

Here's a good article about cyclists getting some love from the city around here. No paths or lanes yet, but it's a start. Kudos to Cindy Buchanan and the City of Memphis government for a good first step.

The next one is to get a decent route out to Shelby Farms--one of the largest green spaces within the city limits of any city in the U.S. Travesty the only real possible route from the population center has a No Bikes sign (which needs to be there due to the narrow lanes/bridge).

kudos to the Hightailers too (our local club) for being proactive in this effort. Good leadership.

I also would like to offer thanks to Cindy for getting the ball rolling on this project. Designated routes from downtown to East Memphis will be extremely helpful. As it stands, we usually have to drive(sinful)downtown from Germantown to safely catch the MRT or do any downtown riding. There are some beautiful areas in Memphis that will soon open up for safer riding. Thanks Ms. Buchanan, the Hightailers and the City of Memphis gov. for this action. : )
