|Does Gore-Tex and Polartec trap in odor?||Fez|

|I am looking at some shoes for cold and wet weather.
One has a Polartec fleece lining inside for warmth.
Another is fully Gore-Tex lined for waterproof protection.
Someone told me these shoes are good for extreme conditions, but would make a bad choice or everyday winter use because both materials trap in odor much worse than regular leather.
This person told me I could do almost as good with SmartWool socks and waterproof silicone spray for everyday use.
Any truth to the statement that GoreTex and Polartec trap in odor when used in shoes? I never had any odor problem with either material for jackets and pants, and I never had any odor problem with regular leather shoes.

|That way you can wear regular shoes, get the waterproof protection of GoreTex and wash out any odor that may have accumulated.|

|No idea concerning Polartec, but Goretex shoes are absolutely Ok - I use them for everyday use for number of years. It seems really they accumulate odor much less then normal shoes.|| |
