ARRRGGGGHHHHHH!!! Too much snow!BowWow

This fell last week, Tuesday - Friday. We saw the sun again just yesterday, and it is beautiful, but cold today. The roads are iced over (gotta get studded tires...), and with a high of near 32 today it'll get pretty sloppy real quick. Does anybody have any more ride shots, maybe from last summer???
Dude... Time to take out the cross country skis.....BigFatSal

Damn, that's a lotta snow. Kinda tough to ride in that, and with all the sloppiness when it starts to melt and mixes with the road sand it's gonna be rough on the drivetrain....

Cross country skiing is great. Fun. Good cross-training sport with cycling. Gets you out in the woods. And is meant to be done in the snow.... And for me is way more fun than putting my bike on the trainer.
Never tried it, but it looks too slow to feed the need for....BowWow

But I'm sure it beats the trainer... Back yard neighbor has some xc skis, mebbe I'll borry a set for an afternoon. Hmmm. Outside, good cardio/leg/upper bod workout... OK, I'll try it!
Learn to skate ski on groomed tracks -- plenty of speed!PT

Our local x-c ski area just added about 8 k of seriously hilly terrain. There's plenty of speed there, and as long as I can avoid planting myself into a pine on a hot downhill corner, it's gonna be easy to forget about cycling until spring...
yuuck! I hope this will help...rwbadley

I'm stuck at home with a 102 Temperature and can't even ride trainers. The only reedeming factor is that the weather the last two days has been not so exciting.

And I just got back from a very hot 2 hour ride...

Some days I am really glad I moved to Florida... I rode down to the UF campus for the Homecoming Parade today and when I saw all those gorgeous 18 year old girls in skimpy clothes... well it's just one of the happy days today!

No pictures, but a FL ride report.Ian

Yeah, I understand how sometimes the weather just doesn't cooperate.

I woke up this morning and peeked outside, it was really foggy. I turned on the weather though and the radar was clear so I headed for the ride start. I met up with the usual Friday morning crew (about 15 of us) and off we were. There was not an arm warmer, leg warmer or toe cover in the bunch. Just shorts and short sleeve jerseys. Which makes sense, it was in the mid to upper 60's. But the fog was terrible. My glasses kept getting fogged up and I had to take them off. And the fog was condensing on and in my helmet and was then rolling down into my eyes. It figures, just when it cools off enough for me to stop sweating, now I have this to deal with. About an hour into the ride the fog burned off and the sun came out. It quickly got up into the 70's. I was able to put my glasses back on, but since I had taken my glasses with amber lenses, it was now kind of bright. Damn weather. Of well, sometimes we have to tough it out.
