|tons of great responses to my question yesterday and I really appreciate it!
I think I have narrowed the search a bit btw, here's where I am at:
New Schwinn FB Comp @ Supergo $649, all 105
Used 00 Gunnar Roadie on Ebay $700 (no bids) 853 w/ Ultegra
Used 00 Spec Allez Sprt. 105 w/ upgrades on crank, wheels, & pedals $650 but we are negotiating.
I like the Gunnar for its tubeset and specs and non commerical name. I like Schwinn for its specs and its brnad new, and I like the Specialized but not sure its the best deal at that price. I am also looking at an 01 Bianchi Veloce for around $800 (maybe a fuzz less) that is all Veloce throughout.
Of these 4 bikes, which wpuld you all go with. I think they are all great bikes and I wouldn't be really disappointed with the performance on any of them. I'm thinking more in terms of best value in the long run.
Thanks again, hopefully before this weekend is over, I'll have iced a deal on a new roadie!!!!

|If you can get it for the right price. Wait til seconds before the end and bid. I just hope you didn't tip off a nice bike to these guys who are now going to run up the price :p|

|does the Bianchi have the carbon seat stays? i've got an '01 Bianchi Giro that i love (it came full 105 & i've upgraded it to ultegra shifters & derailleurs....then with the purchase of my 5200 18 months ago the Giro has become my trainer bike!)
i'd put the Specialized Allez Comp last on the list. it's a heavier frameset and not quite as nice as the other bikes your looking at.
|Ditto on the Allez Sport as you can get an '04 for around $800||TNRyder|

|Don't know about the others, but the Schwinn sounds like a good deal. HOW DOES IT RIDE? Sometimes shops are blowing out stuff that doesn't sell well at super low prices for a reason. A crappy riding rig is not a bargain at ANY price.|| |
