|The wind trainer bike gets flats way too often! That wheel hasn't seen the pavement for over 4 years but it sure can eat tires and tubes. Why can't a tube last a year on the wind trainer? This tube was a Specialized 700-20/28 in a Conti 700-23 tire. Is there any tube that will last longer on a wind trainer?

|How are they flatting? Heat, wear, pinch flat? How tight do you have the wheel clamped to the drivewheel?|

|The tubes fail at a seam so it would be heat related. Also, patching the tube is a futile effort since either the hole will extend past the patch or the tube will rupture in a differnt place quite quickly. The wheel to drive is only tight enough to not slip when the tire pressure is at 100 psi. I have had this problem with wind trainers for almost 20 years and haven't found a good tube to use. An inexpensive Conti tire will last for 2 - 3 years but the tube only lasts a few months.

|try a smaller tube. There are 18-23s out there. The larger the tube, the more likelihood of a flat from seam failure. Had same problem on touring bike.|

|I've only had one flat on a trainer in the last 10 years. Maybe it's your wheel or tire ??????|| |
