So what are the origins of the relationship between roadbikes and playing card suites...as in clubs, aces, spades and diamonds as seen on numerous framesets, old and new?
It seems a bit random but there must be some good lore behind it.

There is a company called Bicycle who produce playing cards, probably the most popular company. I just took a quick look on their webpage in a history section, turns out the reason they picked the name was just due to the fact that cycling was a new and popular at the time. So, it seems it may be just due to the luck of the times.
