|So I go to my LBS today to ride a shiny new||frayed|

This is my first new road bike in about 20 years after 12 years of mountain biking. I go for a short ride, and think, huh "this bike doesn't seem that much faster than my S-works mountain bike".
I'm a bit bewildered.
We throw it up on a stand for fitment adjustments, and afterwards, one of the master jedi guys at the shop (I've ridden with him; he's knowledgable and brutally fast on anything with two wheels) realizes that the entire time I was riding, the rear brake was adjusted so that it was dragging on the rear wheel.
I almost decided to stick with my mountain bike with slicks. There is hope.
No real point here, just rambling. Will have to go back tomorrow to make sure these skinny tired bikes are actually fast. ;)
