|Ok, so I am thinking of getting a trainer. I am really suspect that I will use it, as I have the attention span of a goldfish, but I do want to stay in shape in the off-season. Should I go with a Fluid or a Mag Trainer? Any differece in quality/noise/etc.?|

|Fluid is like a fan: it gets harder as you go faster. The benefit of the fluid is that they're much quieter than a fan.
To combat boredom you can either watch TV/race videos/movies or get a group together so it doesn't feel like you're the only one bored to tears. I used to get together with a group of about 6 guys every Tue and Thurs. We used to spend 2-3 hours on the trainers with no problem. There seems to be something about doing the workout in a group that helps immensely.
Somewhere I heard a saying "champions go beyond boredom." Which certainly holds true for riding trainers alone...
