|I cut the strap on my Giro helmet too short (didn't account for fraying) and now the closure is so close to the end that the buckle frequently works itself off the end of one of the straps while I am riding. I'm worried that in the event of a crash, the strap won't be secured enough to even keep the helmet on my head before it hits the ground. So anyways, does anyone have any idea how to keep the buckle from sliding off the end of the strap while I'm wearing it?
Or should I just give up and get a new strap?

|If that fails, then get another strap.|

|answer 1) grow hair longer, thread through vents, tie.

|The straps out of the clip and get a small o-ring from the hardware store that will just fit on the strap. Re-install the clip and roll the o-ring down so that it goes around both the long strap and the short tail. This will greatly reduce strap slipping. Many helmets come with the o-ring feature, but usually the o-ring is too big to do much good (presumably helmet users are not skilled enough to use a tighter o-ring).|
