|12,100$ for a trek 5900 ? seems a bit steep
There are even "bids" !
But the author of the scam doesn't know geography, Paris is definitely not in Aquitaine...
|Maybe the bidder thinks he is getting 7 bikes! nm||the bull|

|eBay "vigilantes" are bidding on this one. If it doesn't end they get the price super high and then somebody does eventually take notice.|

|What are ebay vigilantes? Are you saying that they bid some obvious scam way up so that eBay will notice and shut it down?? hmmm|
Oct 29, 2003 10:23 AM
|Yep. They have obvious id's like this one from the auction--"no-rip-offs-allowed" and start bidding outrageous amounts until the auction gets shut down in order to discourage anybody that might think the auction is legit.|
|How about the sellers ID?||wspokes|

|I purchased my husband a bike on ebay from bikesdirect.com and it was a great deal and came in 3 days. And I have purchased all types of other stuff on ebay too; and always had a great experience.
The only bad experience I have had has been when I sold some dishes -- the buyer backed out. But no big deal I just relisted them and they sold right away.
We like buying online and my husband has just ordered me a Mercier online and it also came in at once. (I love it so far and it looks great)
I think most customers can save by shopping online if they take their time.
