are junk now. I just bought a pair last week and they are already falling apart. Needless to say I will be bringing them back. Both of them have started to tear in the exact same spot (where the nylon meets the wrist band. Anyone else have problems with the Gel Lites?

I've been using the new PI Gel Lites all summer. Although I haven't had any problems with them falling apart, I do not think they are as comfortable as the "old" design. Another example of a "new, improved" product that is inferior to the model it replaced. Seems to be rampant in the bike industry.
Durability OK, new design poorpitt83

My '02 pair are great! I bought a pair of the "improved" '03 and don't like them near as much. I hate the underhand closer and the reduced surface area of the new ones. The '02's are, far and away, my favorite gloves.

I still use two pairs of the older version. This year, I bought the newer version and don't mind them. The padding is really think and changed the feel of the bars too much, IMO. Although I want padding, I don't need that much. I've noticed that is isn't as bad as they get older. Nothing else bothers me and I use them just as much as the older pairs.

I thought the new velcro location was strange. I wonder if people complained about getting a circular spot tan on the back of their hand. I always new when I was doing a lot of riding by the darkness of that spot between my thumb and first finger. :-)

Agreed - my original pair lasted 2 years before becoming too crunky. The new pair with new design has tears along the wrist seam and one of the palm pads fell off (not to mention that the palm pads are not as comfortable as the old design).
