So guess who I ran into at the worlds....Vanilla SR.Frith

We were at the worlds in Hamilton when this gentleman pulled up on a sweet bike and asked if we'd mind if he stood with us for a bit. We got talking and I immediately noticed that his bike was a vanilla. Being Canadian I'd only read great things about Vanilla from you guys and never actually seen one. I asked him if he was from Portland because I knew that's where they were made. He said he wasn't but his Son was. He asked me how I knew that and I told him that it was his bike that tipped me off. Then he told me that Vanilla (or Sasha) is his son!
I had tonnes of questions for him after that... Funny story he joked about when his son decided to start apprenticing under a custom builder, he was wary and warned him that it might not be the most succesfull endeaver. Boy was he wrong! currently a 6 month waiting list.
Overall a really nice guy.
must be nice to have a custom builder in the family.Frith

Interesting placement of the Cadence sensor...biknben

Notice the Polar cadence sensor is mounted to the seat tube. You can also see the magnet zip-tied to one of the spider arms. Interesting idea. Although I'd hate to have to clean around it, it is an inconspicuous location.

That's why I love scoping out pictures here.
I Didn't notice that, thanks. nmLen J

It does look beautifully made. Same pedals and water bottle as me, if only I had the rest.
Sure'd be nice to trade up to one of those..[nm]bent_spoke
