Can't comment on the Tarmac, but just took delivery of a Giant TCR and it's everything that people have been saying and more - light, responsive, climbs like a dream. For the price you can't do better. I am 5"11 and ride a medium and use a 250cm seatpost.

Some the the Specialized big wigs are coming to my shop Saturday/Sunday for in-store fun. They are supposed to be bringing along a Tarmac. If it is my size I'm counting on a ride. I'll try and get you a report next week...

I love my TCR 1. super light and handles like a F1 car. All the people I've met who ride TCR's are super happy.

Not too sure on the whole aluminium/carbon mix.
Just seems like all aluminium or all carbon makes more sense.

Try both though. Then decide.
ok, thanks!pimpy

Need a medium too, 250cm seatpost is maybe a little short.
Going to try them out soon.
