|HELP! i'm addicted to frames and can't help myself||JS Haiku Shop|

so now i'm riding the new merckx and the old merckx is not-so-old but hanging in the shop with merely a headset and seatpost my look is wheel-less and waiting anxiously for a salty post-winter-precipitation ride the cross-check, replete with knobbies and a light dusting, ok complete coating and clog of dried mud, rests against the fridge waiting for november 2, the first local race the steamroller leans longingly toward the door, ready for a perpetual RPM 100-miler where i'll have to stand, pedaling, to adjust my shorts the new (old) $10 garage sale bridgestone hangs like a bat waiting for parts and tubes and the day when my schedule will allow bike commuting the mtb in constant hibernation will awaken one day to my hurried 11th-hour "routine maintenance" as it's underprepared for yet another flogging against the clock, others, and myself, or perhaps the rare fat-tire nature commune, usually in weather so cold and crisp that the air is silent and fine as a fresh piece of notebook paper the zeus pro sits in a box in gvh's virtual shop waiting to be built as a climbing bike with gears only a grandmother would consider without blushing the s-works m4 festina resides alongside mr. zeus and patiently awaits full tri-geek regalia and loud bar tape and finally i am sitting here drooling down the shirt collar looking at a s-works m4 cx 'crosser on ebay that i can't seem to stop thinking about in a most improper manner, and wondering in a small corner of my mind if perhaps i'd enjoy trail riding more with a singlespeed mountain bike.
i've fallen and i can't get up.

|Didn't you put a 105 kit on your 286? Just curious what you think. I'm probably going with 105 on the new bike.|

|yup, 2002 105 (double) kit from gvh. rode it on the b'ham DC, also pushed it hard in a recent road duathlon. aside from those, about 1200 miles on the kit, no problems. i've had 105 on two other bikes (1 double, 1 triple), no major complaints, though each did have a right (rear) STI shifter die at around 1000 miles. i wonder if it wasn't that year's run--have had no problems since, and heard nothing similar.
i'm happy with 105 and compare it positively with ultegra. shifts aren't quite as smooth/clean, but are just as accurate/functional. everything else seems the same to me.
|Thanks. I think I'll go with the black 2003... nm||Dave Hickey|

|Zeus...celeste...Bob Jackson...the illness continues...||wspokes|

|Oh my heavans...I have a Razesa I adore! I had a Zeus I sold but am currently in the process of acquiring a later NOS Zeus frameset which will be built up entirely with Zeus...But these will contrast in comparison with the 3 celested babes in the basement so I tried to balance it with my Bridgestone RB-T in British Green, but that wasn't enough and I continued...A Bob Jackson fixie, a Puch, A Surly and Bianchi (not celeste) Project bike, Then my old mongoose MTB looked lonely so I got the 1949 Vicini to sit by it...and then the 29 Charlie Gibb....The illness continues...I am sure I will get another impulse soon...
I feel your pain!

|You both need to get into an anti bike buying program soon before it is too late. If you were my size I would say go cold turkey and give half your frames to me, kind of like throwing your cigarettes out of the window of car and into the lap of a chain smoker. Ha Ha|| |
