For freedom Christ has set us free; stand fast therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery. Now I, Paul, say to you that if you receive circumcision, Christ will be of no advantage to you. I testify again to every man who receives circumcision that he is bound to keep the whole law. You are severed from Christ, you who would be justified by the law; you have fallen away from grace. [Gal 5:1-4]

they're trying to make bible is just a book not a holy book, and it is full of discrepancies. And yes as any quote it is taken out of context.

Anyways that's not what I wanna talk about on Friday night if you know what I mean ;) I've gotta to get out.

well, I believe in the God thing...that's about it...I don't like following any religious dogma that professes one belief above all others...which is just about all of them...otherwise, I feel that the only religion I follow is the belief of treating the world and the people fair and well..." I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know I am the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon you." heh heh heh.

Just so everybody is clear. The Apostle Paul wrote that in Galations 5:2 and the context is that we are not saved by works alone. Circumcision was a Jewish rite of passage and Paul was concerned that the church would confuse doing that as a means to salvation. For salvation is through Jesus Christ alone, John 14:6" I am the way the truth and the life. No man comes to the Father except through Me." Paul had no Issue with Circumcision he even had Timothy get circumcised to expand his ministry.

Have a great day!

It's time to quit "soft-shoeing" the facts. If you do not believe in the manner the Bible has spelled out, you are going to experience eternal damnation. Forget the appologetic Christian witness program. It is a fact, if you do not believe then you will answer to God. Jesus will say he never knew you and you will be sent away. There is plenty of grace for those that accept it. Open your eyes.

Pray hard.
Ride hard.
Get busy.

Soft shoeing the 'facts'. What facts are these. An invisible sky monster who condones the slaughter of children and killed his only son over a fruit tree dispute (but only for a weekend)! Come on. Religion is the tool of the weak minded to explain natural phenomenon. Like scary thunder. Wake up to yourself, look into this fairytale story a little more deeply, read the bible from cover to cover and you will be an atheist within 6 months. Then you can ejoy a ride on Sunady morning without feeling guilty.

BTW - if anyone did not follow the slaughter of children reference, here are some passages to mull over.

Psalm 137:8 O daughter of Babylon, who art to be destroyed; happy shall he be, that rewardeth thee as thou hast served us. 9 Happy shall he be, that taketh and dasheth thy little ones against the stones.

Isaiah 13:16 Their children also shall be dashed to pieces before their eyes; their houses shall be spoiled, and their wives ravished.

1 Samuel 15:2 Thus saith the LORD of hosts, I remember that which Amalek did to Israel, how he laid wait for him in the way, when he came up from Egypt. 3 Now go and smite Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and spare them not; but slay both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and ass.

Loving God?!! Ah, I know, he changed his ways between the old and the new testament. Bet you didn't see these passages in Sunday school.

as is so typical you pull a verse and do not read in context!!!!!!!!!!! the 1st verse in psalm is talking about war and its ravages on everyone, it's not God saying to dash kids on the rocks.

If you are going to use scripture it would be nice to read the entire passage and not just a peice of a verse.

I hope that someday you open your heart if you ever decide to read Gods word in entirety. If you were to do so I think you would have another view.

Oh and yes I have studied these in sunday school, and yes they are at 1st look odd to read but when you read the whole of the Bible they fall into place.

Show me a greater display of love than offering up your own son as a sacrifice for the sins of others?????

Have a great day and I appreciate your candor!

"Sent away" - nice. No matter what exists, I hope he or she is more compassionate than you.

The facts? Religion has nothing (or at least very little to do with facts). Its faith.

OK. I do not take the bible as fact. Does this mean I am not a spiritual person? Of course not. If living a good life and trying to treat others as I would be treated will send me straight into an eternity of damnation, if there is such a thing, so be it. Why don't you keep your narrow-minded blather to yourself. If we're all going to Hell then Heaven will be less crowded when you arrive (as you undoubtedly will), affording you ample opportunity to pester the sh*t out of your Maker about what a pious Christian life you led and how you warned all of the non-believers on Roadbike Review as to our wretched fate!

Dude, you need to reread my thread. Your the one that needs to lighten up. I never mentioned heaven or hell.

I never offered my beliefs but you were very quick to assume things.

You know nothing about me, yet you say I'm going to hell. Who is the narrow minded person?
