bag balm is a disgusting mess, and noxema, although it's what I use, dries my skin something fierce.
chamois butt'r... not cheap, but works well & isn't messy...PdxMark

But during a tour, with a freezing morning, it goes on VERY cold...
Or Assos chamois creme or Nalini Chamois Relief.KG 361

If you like the menthol feeling of the Noxema, try the Assos. If you doen't, get the Nalini. My fave is the Assos, but Nalini works good, too. The Nalini is a little cheaper, too.
Another vote for AssosCoolhand

I don't use anything, but my wife likes a product called "Body Glide." It does not wear off with sweat like the Butt'r does, and does not rub off. It is somewhat cheaper than Butt'r. I believe it is also easier to apply as it goes on like a deodorant stick. You can get 2.5 ounces for 11.99 at www.roadrunnersports.com (they also have the 1.3 ounce size - or get it at a local runner's (gasp) shop. My wife has tried a number of things, and she far prefers this.
I like Assos and Sammy Chamois nm.russw19

Give Nivea a try. I've used it for years. It works great, is odorless, does not dry your skin and is inexpensive.
Nivea what?ss jimbo

It reminds me of the couple who told the market researcher that they used vaseline for sex. They put it on the bedroom door knob to keep the kids from opening the door.

you find it in the baby section. Pretty cheap, doesn't go on as cold as Chamois But'r. You can get it in tubes for your bike bag, a huge tub for the house,+ little travel packs.
