Rode a Madone today....teoteoteo

...Nice bike with a ride that is stiffer than a 5900. Not bad stiff, just stiffer and different in feel than 5900/55/52. It has better power transfer too BUT I was riding a Madone with new DA 10 cranks which are stiffer so part of the zip could be attributed to the cranks I suppose.

Anyway the bottom line is that for those that wanted a stiffer ride you got it in a Madone. If you want a softer one maybe the 5900. Today was a short spin...more feedback next week after I ride a demo for a bit longer.

Every week or so Trek sends out an update to dealers. The update gives dealers timelines and approximate production quantities of what is coming soon. The good news is that Carbon is correct in his estimate. The bad news is that the 54 cm production schedule for the weeks of November only show small numbers for all Madones.

Now is gets more complicated because Trek probably won't be able to make more Madones than they have orders for at least 2-3 months. Carbon110 ordered his months ago and so he should be ok. Now allocation of models is another factor. You have to be a strong dealer with good reps to snag more bikes--as sad as it sounds it seems to me that sometimes allocation is a game.

I guess to make a long story short I'd say dealer size and date of order will have a heavy influence on when you get your bike. Not trying to bum you out but give you an honest answer.

Oh yeah...DA 10 parts have something to do with this also. The OEM supply from Shimano is not expected to be steady until January sometime.
