Nashbar's sale on Brooks saddles was too good to be trueirregardless

In response to a posting here last week, I ordered a light colored Brooks B17 saddle for $29.99 (on sale from twice that much), plus some proofride leather treatment for $5.49, plus tax and shipping. The box arrived yesterday WITHOUT the saddle. The receipt indicated that they were out of stock, they don't expect a replacement for at least a month, and I should reorder then, even though the sale is over. Although they were "nice" enough to send me the proofride even though I have absolutely no need for it and wouldn't have ordered it without the saddle, and charge me just as much in shipping and tax as the proofride costs alone.
I need a Brooks ...Humma Hah

... I ordered my last one thru a Performance store, and the wrong saddle arrived (a B73 with 3 springs). I decided that one was perfect for the cruiser, but still need one for the roadbike.

Based on your experience, I think I'll just hop on the bike and take the W&OD into DC, and buy a B-17 from the "pro" shop in Georgetown. Lay hands on it, pay the price, support a good shop, no shipping charges or surprises getting the wrong thing.

Proofide I've got already.

call Customer service and complain, they may refund you. NB is a Walmart of Online, and they goof sometimes like that. However, they do care about customers, so if you annoy them enough they'll fix it up good luck
Too bad...hirevR

you can't roll into your LBS and ask what's up with my order and have them fix it for you face to face immediately. has happened more often to me than not--hence my loyalty to the LBS.
