Well, the new Trek Madones arrived the shop yesterday--all 58CM's. Like I mentioned before it's the only size Trek is shipping right now unless things have changed in the last week.

Out of the box with no pedals or WB cages the bike is 15.5 pounds. We recieved 3 and all are Special orders/sold so I couldn't really test ride other than hop on in it the store. Maybe a guy will flake and I can take one on a short spin. If not then i'll get a shot at some Trek demo's coming down for an event after ride for the roses.

All in all a cool bike but i'd have to ride and compare to the new 5900SL before going on a limb and saying I'd buy one.
thanks for the infoDrone 5200

I would be interested to read your thoughts after you get a chance to ride one or feedback from your customers. I recently ordered a 54cm Madone and am looking everyday for information on it as my thoughts were that it may be a little to stiff. I currently have an 04 5200 and it rides very smooth. I was debating between the 04 5900SL and the Madone but went with the Madone because of hype??? I am no fan of aluminum bikes as the ride is just to harsh and am a little afraid that the Madone may be similar?? Thanks for any knowledge you may have. Also any news you may have on delivery of the 54's would be nice too....the latest I have is 1Nov03.

I'll keep feeding what info I can. I feel pretty certain that while stiffer than a 5900 that the carbon won't ride like Alum. So far all I have heard on the ride qualities was from a friend of LA's. He told me that one of LA's friends was on a Madone and it was stiffer in ride--that being said the bike probably was not one of the production models and could have more or less carbon. If you've read any of Carbon110's posts here you'll know his shop has an LA cast-off that had 12 plys of Carbon and was "too stiff for Lance".
