Canonndale SR500 headshok frame ques?Sexly

Hey guys, I found a good deal on a Cannondale SR500 frame, which originally had a headshok. I would like to build it into a rigid roadie, it does not have a headset or fork. Will a standard headset fit the frame, and will it work as a rigid race bike?

Thanks
Jon

I once used a normal fork on a headshock headtube (MTB). It requires a conversion kit of reducers. They fit on the top and bottom of head tube and reduce the diameter to allow the use of a "normal" headset. I did this years ago and haven't seen the kit for sale since. I suspect you'd have a hard time locating one now.

IMO, this is only a good deal because it doesn't include the fork. Unless it is nearly free, I'd pass. Before buying, make sure you can get the reducers and find out what size they reduce to.
