|Ben's ride used up my riding tickets for a while =( I'm going to do a ride up into Perry Co PA and take in the leaves changing from atop Wagner's Gap. Anyone in the area is welcome to join me. I'll leave from Mechanicsburg HS at 9am or so. Should be 60-70 miles.|
|You too, eh?||biknben|

|I'm fresh out ride tickets too. I've been extra nice around the house trying to avoid any backlash from the wifey.|

|My wife was not a happy camper when I left for your ride. She did, however, call me on the way there and apologized =)
I decided that I will just stick to rides that I can do from home or very close-don't want to push the envelope too much.....

|There are many reasons why I should not even try to do the Savage: (1) I have ridden very few miles since I broke my shoulder on July 3 and most of them were in preparation for the Civil War Century (but I do have a lot of time on the indoor trainer); (2) Until this weekend, I had not done any riding outside since the Civil War Century (largely because I had to help my wife clean up from our post-Tropical Storm Isobel flooded basement); (3) I normally am a tortoise, now I even am slower -- on Sunday, I rode a 28 mile loop near my house (which includes two very steep hills that are similar to those on the Savage); usually the ride takes me 1:50 or so, on Sunday it took me over two hours; (4) I have tons of work to do and should spend the day in the office; (5) this coming Sunday, I am having a party at my house for the guys with whom I ride and their families to celebrate the return of one of the guys from a cross country bike trip (Baltimore to Oregon; I should stay at home to get ready for the party). HOWEVER, unlike some of the other guys who have posted above, I have lots of credit with my wife (three weekends of basement cleaning, floor waxing, yard work, etc., count for lots of points) and my wife's sister will be visiting (in other words, I will not be missed). I did the Savage two years ago and liked it. I am going to try to do again on Saturday if the weather is dry (I still can feel the 103 miles of rain from the Civil War Century) and my shoulder is not hurting too badly.|

|I've shipped my last road bike off to SoCal for our vacation. For the Savage I'll be riding my MTB with slicks and shouldn't be too hard to keep up with.
Len will have to ride with Miss M.

|White Clay Bicycle Club has moved the start this year. It now starts at the Gore plant on Barksdale Road. Not far from the U of D. It will alter the route slightly and allow even the 75mile option to hit Duck Hill. One of my favorite ride/routes - always great. I won't be able to ride unless my daughter quits band, like she's threatened to for the last month. Have fun all!
