Is It Just Me(10 posts)

Is It Just Melotterypick

I've been thinking about how long my ride is, I tend to go solo, and wondered where does the time go.

Is it just me or do you also think about absolutely nothing when your riding.

For me I'm thinking about what's coming up next and being ready for it, whereas when I used to do long runs I could think about family, songs, whatever.

My mind is a blank? Et vous?

My mind goes all over the map when I ride.

Sometimes it is stacatto like you's sounds. Sometimes it's much more focused. I once wrote an entire story in my head, including understanding what I wanted to do with characters, after I saw a funeral procession pass me on the road and I noticed one woman passanger who was staring out the window with the most unusual expression on her face. She was clearly lost in an intense happy/sad (both at the same time) memory (only way I can put that facial expression into words "she had a tentative smile surrounded by a mask of grief"). Anyway, for the next 3 hours, I tried to create a story that would explain the look. It's a story I like a lot. I don't remember anything else about the ride, except when I looked later, my average speed was above average.

Ah..where the mind takes us when we let go and listen!

Same here, but usually with some silly song looping over and over in the background.

Dom DeLouise...Dead or alive?
Ask Burt R. where he buried him, its a Loni thing.

How do you spell Ft. Waa-Cho-Ca?
zAlready answered.

What was that show with that guy in it?
The man from UNCLE.

What exactly did my ex-bf mean in that fight we had five years ago? What an *sshol*. Wait, maybe I'm the *ssh*le....
All BFs are considered as wholes, but if you marry them and then divorce you are now The Cap B with an itch.

Do crows sleep?
Not in my neck of the woods, they are at it 4 AM screechin and a hoochee coo.

Why didn't that guy wave back?
Too self absorbed with average speed and realizing its a personal best (only in Marin.)

How much daylight do I have left at my current speed? (Why did I not bring my lights with me?)
Another Blonde joke.

Does spankdoggie really live in San Francisco?
Nope

Should I get a burger or a burrito on the way home?
Consider Indonesian.

I totally want to sleep with the guy down the hall from me.
I'm here for you.

Why the are people so frickin' rude sometimes?
It's all about Eve.

I should call my mom.
I did and I took her to the dump, she loved it.

I love my cat.
I like my dog.

I love my bike.
My bikes are tools.

I have to pee again.
Thanks for the reminder.

I'm getting another job.
I did and the commute is the best part, get to ride to SF every sunrise.

My job's not so bad.
Then ask for a raise.

I need more money and a houseboy.
I respecfully request faster horses, younger women, and more money. But I do need to call a cleaning service (Nude Housecleaners in SF?) so I can invite a woman to this crashpad.

See you suisun

You reached the next level grasshopper.

My head head is in the now when biking (or racing). Not in the past, not in the future, just focused on the moment. (or is it leftover chemicals in my bloodstream from the 60's)

I also do most of my riding solo and spend much of my time thinking about nothing in particular. However, when I am focused on subjects, they are typically (in no particualr order): dead people, beer, fertilizer, burritos, sex, what a great bike I have, trains, and my kids.
