Need riding route suggestions for Napa / Sonoma ...Tahoe Gator

Spending one day in the wine country between days in Tahoe and SF and would like to get in a nice ride. Staying at a hotel in Sonoma (Santa Rosa, specifically) and looking for some route ideas from there or very nearby. I recall an article in a recent Bicycling magazine about a Backroads tour, but unfortunately I threw it out. I'm in pretty decent shape, but also have along my wife who is 3 months post child delivery, so please elaborate on climbing requirements for any suggestions offered. Thanks!

I'd second the SRCC idea, also a ride from Santa Rosa to Headsburg and back would be good, has very little climbing...there is also a bike path out to Sebastopol FWIW. Many club rides at various paces and distances in the area too w/ SRCC and other clubs...check out for listings and many good links...

My favorite ride starts in Healdsburg and goes out East Side Road and circles back around to Healdsburg on West Side Road, with an extension available on West Dry Creek to Lambert Bridge and Dry creek. under 40 miles, small hills, great wineries and spectacular fall colors. Check in with the local bike shop, Spokefolks, for maps and additional routes suggestions, be sure to stop in at the very bike friendly Hop Kiln Winery, excellent spot for a picnic and always clean restrooms.
