|I'm trying to ride myself back into shape (a depressing project!), so I "celebrated" turning 51 on Saturday with a 51-mile ride at an average of exactly 20 mph. Confession: I had a little help from my (five younger, stronger) friends, and didn't take any pulls over the last 20 miles.
What cool birthday rides have you done?

|My 33rd is on Thursday and I am going to tell my wife I don't want a fancy dinner, or any big deal. I just want to go out riding after work! It will have to be MTB though my road bike is in the middle of a rebuild. Perhaps I will break out the niterider.|

|I'm doing my first metric century (the Foxy Fall Classic in Davis, CA), the day before I turn 36. Tore my ACL playing indoor soccer 18 months ago and switched to biking...|

|Last saturday, the day after my b-day, I went for a nice ride with all my new winter gear. Temp was approx. 40 degrees. New gear is fun. And I love the new booties.|

|Indian summer here in central Michigan so I took a day of vacation. Went out with a buddy for a cold 7:45AM start but the temp got to the upper 70s by the time we finished. 124 miles/200 km, door to door, in 6:45. I added a mile at then end to make it a double metric century. A great way to spend my birthday, and it beat the heck out of going to work! Beautiful fall colors too - what a treat.|| |
