|The future of US Pro cycling looks bleak after Armstrong and Tyler retire which cannot be too far away.
The U23 US team were just plain shocked about how fast the pace was in the final laps of the road race. Chris Horner finished a disappointing 34th place more than two minutes behind. The best placed US rider came in 11th and that was in the women's road race.
But don't despair, the USA dominates one cycling discipline like no other: BMX. For the US to win a World's medal (at least bronze) it would be easier and faster to convince the UCI to add BMX races to the racing schedule than to start developing elite cyclists.
