|An FYI for those having trouble with Integrated Headsets:
I got a Merckx Team SC that had repeated problems with the Campy Hiddenset integrated headset coming loose. It kept coming loose, requiring adjustment after (and sometimes during) about every ride. The original set-up was a Team SC frame, Merckx carbon fork (w/ carbon steer tube), Campy Hiddenset headset, and Easton EA70 stem.
I replaced the Easton stem with a Thomson stem and the problem has been resolved. No more constant loosening. No more mid-ride adjustments. No more ka-thunk ka-thunk.

|Check with the manufacturer of that fork to be sure that you can use that stem wth it. The way the pinch bolt on the Thompson stem squeezes the steerer tube is not recommended for many carbon steerer tubes.|

|I actually found it to be the most highly recommended stem for carbon steer tubes because of how the stem clamps the steer tube. apparently, the thomson stem clapms more of the steer tube and dissipates the clamping force more evenly, when compared with stems that use a "pinch" clamp (a la the EA70).|
|Yep! That's true about the Thomson... it is recommended nm.||russw19|
