How to adjust an integrated headset?filly

Is it the same idea behind adjusting the conventional threadless headset? Just tight enough to take out any slop and clunking? The mech at a local shop said that it should really be torqued down. I questioned this, and he said you really can't overtighten the integrated design. This seems like bad advice--wouldn't the bearings begin to pit the head tube as they do the cups on the conventional design? Obviously, loose is bad, but so is too tight, and I think this would apply to the integrated headset.

I don't know the manufacturer's specs, which should be the bottom line, but that sounds weird to "really tourqe it down". Maybe check Chris King or Cane Creek's web site for specs?
