I am looking for some upper body clothing, and am wondering what you guys wear. Do you reccomend a jackets, long sleeve jerseys, base layers? How about brands and fabric types to look for.

it's going to be cold in PA over the winter

What is
i your
definition of cold? Everyone is different. I'd recommend having all of the clothes you mentioned at your disposal. I find that every five degrees requires a different combo of gear. It's annoying and if you get it wrong you freeze or fry. When you get it right, you can ride as if the temp doesn't matter.

Keep in mind-I LIKE the cold-I usually don't get cold unless it is real cold, but here's what I have; 2 LS thermal undershirts-got 'em cheap @ sierra trading post,a couple of LS jerseys, a windbreaker (yellow-doesn't everyone have one?), a pair of arm, leg, and knee warmers, a hat, glove liners, a couple of pair of gloves, varying warmth, and several pairs of tights, varying warmth, plus a winter jacket. If it us really cold (less than 30 or so), I'l wear a SS tee, a LS wicking undershirt, the jacket, hat, gloves + liners, heavy tights, and winter shoes or booties. Add or subtract layers as needed =) BTW-I live in PA, too.

As a base layer, I wear this under a jersey in temps in the fourties. If I'm riding in a fast group, I don't need any jacket or arm warmers.

I wear a pair of these on my hands. They have a longer cuff which is important when your riding all stretch out in the drops.

I wear one of these under my helmet. It fits perfect, covers the ears, and is windproof.

To keep the feet warm, I have a pair of these. They have a durable sole and are windproof.

I like to check out the their website every month. They always have lots of stuff on sale, closeout, or clearance. The problem is that it's usually odd-sized stuff. But every one in a while, you can score.
