|A few of us went to the Northern California Homebrewers Conference set in beautiful Dobbins CA. What a nice place to be. I took two bikes along in case anyone wanted to go riding. This is my campsite...|

|A nice mid day ride with Dan and Joe.....||rwbadley|

|Dan (with the tail) bike commutes about twenty miles/day until recently when he broadsided a car that turned in front of him. He suffered a bit, but is doing ok now. It ruined his cool vintage Lotus Comp bike. He is just now getting back on the bike and feeling good.|

|they have a security guard at the front and as Dan and Joe were about to ride through the guy slammed the gate down and started asking questions. We thought we would check out their tasting room, but he said it was by appointment only. So we mentioned there were four other people coming by car and they would be dissappointed... so security called somebody and they came down to escort us in.
We eventually got the feeling this was some kinda cult and/or money laundering organization. This gave plenty of fodder to create stories and rumors of which I won't go into here. ;-) Their wine was pretty good tho, and we ended up buying a bottle or two.

|and on the way back Dan flatted out on a lonely gravel road that wasn't the shortcut we thought it was. A stroke of luck someone came along to offer him a ride, as neither of us had our flat repair kits as mine had been on the other bike, which was now riding in the back of a truck with Joe.
From three we now have one...

|And a great gut-wrenching ride with Andy...||rwbadley|

|Andy is a very strong rider on his old Raleigh Professional. When you hear someone say "it's not the guy on the new bike, it's the guy on the 'experienced' bike that you have to watch out for"... they were thinking of Andy.
See if you can spot the oddity in this photo...other than the moron in the white shirt.

|That is some fine italian watter-bottle-cage engineering. I KNEW they settled on that diameter for a reason...|

|The wine bottle in your cage? I could go on but I suspect that is the one you were refering to.
That certainly looks like an interesting trip.
Strange people in the woods, with kegs, spamm, coffins, etc. I bet there are some very interesting stories to be told.

|You got that right!
Andy and I got back from flogging ourselves on the hilly roads and our neighbor offered to take this pic. He decided the Scotch bottle in the cage was a nice touch.
It was a treat to ride this area. Alot of rollers and steep stuff. Got in only about 100 miles in the three days, but it felt good.
Speaking of rollers: I didn't get the whole back east roller thing until fighting with them here this weekend. True dat, the west is mostly long gradual stuff, but not all. This area had some real gut buster rollers, the kind where no amount of momentum would help, too long too steep, but not long enough to settle in, and not enough rest on the other side. It felt like thirty miles of standing on 10% grade!
