|I headed to Grand Junction / Fruita this weekend for some late season riding. The ride through Colorado Monument is a classic and is one of my favorites. This time of year there is very little traffic and you can spend a little more time enjoying the scenery.|

|As you climb out of Fruita, you can see the entire town layed out on the valley floor.|

|This is a special part of the world and it's reletivly undiscovered by the crowds. The forces that created this beauty are beyond comprehension.
It kind of reminds you of a classic bike movie doesn't it?

|I did this ride in March, and I must say, it is one of the most spectacular rides I have done. The scenery is breathtaking, there is little traffic and the descent at the end is fantastic. It is a great workout of climbing to get to the top but it is worth every foot of incline!|

|I flew into Grand Junction while on my way to Moab. We took a "detour" on our way to go up to the monument. Breath taking views that had me crying for my road bike.
I'm gonna have to go home and watch American Flyers again.
