Play'n Hooky-White Rock Lake mini ride reportDave Hickey

I decided to "make sales calls" yesterday afternoon and I headed over to the White Rock Lake area of Dallas. White Rock Lake is a beautiful area within the Dallas city limits. It¡¦s the most popular area for cyclists and runners in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. The course consists of a 10 mile loop around the lake. I rode 40 miles in fantastic 75 degree weather. For some reason, it's even more fun riding when you should be working:-)
Nice clear roads.Dave Hickey

Looks nice, but I couldn't read the name.
Weyless. Very nice. 4 bolt I think. I like. nmNo_sprint

It is the 4 bolt.Dave Hickey

It a carbon wrapped stem. It's not a carbon tube joined to aluminum ends. It't very light and strong.

One of my bikes has a Cinelli 3 bolt. I've been shopping to change it out. I'm going to look seriously at that one. Very nice. I've got FSA's on this particular bike too.
What's the model?No_sprint

I'm getting used to the logo but I'd prefer it didn't have them. I also have their carbon cranks on this bike. Very nice and about $100 cheaper than FSA.

The logo is not decals or if they are, they're under the clearcoat

I live 2.5 miles from White Rock and have ridden countless laps around those exact same roads. Yesterday was a beautiful day. I'm quite jealous that I had to work while you were making "sales calls". It must have been nice to not have to dodge the baby strollers and dog walkers!

I'll keep my eye out for you on your Look next time I'm out. Watch for me on my 63cm Trek 2300 (silver w/ red bar tape and tires) , or email me, and we'll take a few laps together.
I'll let you know the next time...Dave Hickey

I live over in Fort Worth so I don't get over to WRL as much as I'd like. I'll let you know the next trip.

I live very close to White Rock Lake, too. Having done a gazillion laps around it, sometimes I forget just how lucky we are here in Dallas to have WRL. As Innergel said, next time you're over here, let us know. It would be good to meet you and get in a ride. Glad you enjoyed your day!
We have plenty of RBRers in DFW. Let's set up a ride. nmDave Hickey

Be easy to identify. Not too many 63cm silver Trek 2300's out there. I'll keep an eye out for you at WRL as well. I usually ride a blue 5200 w/ black tape, but it's just a little bitty 54cm.

Also, good idea that AFF has about a Dallas area ride.
I was there this morningsteve-z

I live less than a mile from WRL (near Lake Highlands and Buckner) - look for me on a LS Tuscany w/black Pneumo.

If anyone wants to meet at the lake on a weekend morning and do the Mesquite - Sunnyvale ride, I'm game.

I live just behind the Bally's at Abrams and Skillman. Just a stones throw from both of you. Small world!!

Count me in on any DFW RBR rides. The weekend 9am RBR South rides are a great idea.

I'll keep my eyes peeled for both of you. BTW, I wear a white Limar F105 helmet with silver Rudy Project Tayos. Gotta be coordinated with the bike :-)
I ran a marathon around that lake 21 years agosuperdog

The Dallas White Rock Marathon. Ran 2:26 and now I can't even run an 8 minute mile. Now I'm all depressed. I'm going to go drink a lot of beer.
