|The ride is still on for this Sunday Oct. 5th. I did some reconnaissance rides in the last couple weeks to finalize the route. I haven't ridden it continuously yet and I'm looking forward to it myself.
The route (check map below) will be a loop going clockwise starting in Wanaque, NJ. It goes Northeast through NY's Harriman S.P. to Bear Mtn. S.P. We'll go to the top of Bear Mtn. The return portion will start along the Hudson River before turning West and heading home. Total distance is 81 miles. I made up a que sheet.
Included in the route is 6,000 ft. of climbing. The climbs are not knee busters. Bear Mtn. is the most difficult (6-7% avg.) but we'll be starting from the easier side. The decent from the top will be twice as long. :-) The climbing is early in the ride. The last 25 miles is more down than up.
Start time is 9am. Pace is to be determined by the slowest rider. I'll hope for a 17-18 mph avg. but I'm just guessing. There are long stretches of road for pace lines. The larger climbs are on deserted roads so you can go your own pace and we'll regroup at the top if we have to.
Stops will be made as required. I suspect we'll stop and chill for a few minutes at the top of Bear Mtn. (halfway). There are vending machines before that and stores afterwards.
Contact me via e-mail (firstname.lastname@example.org) to confirm and I'll get directions for everyone. I hope you can make it. I look forward to using all of the memory of my camera during the ride.

|I grew up in Wanaque and my parents are still there. I regularly drop the kids off with Grandma and ride. I'm often torn between whether to bring the road or MTB. You can't loose either way.|

|I haven't heard from anyone coming from NYC. If you wanted to come out on the train I'd be happy to pick you up and take you to the start. Maybe we could work something out.|

|That is very tempting and a gracious offer but I don't know if i'll actually be able to get out of the city (work, errands, general goings-on). Thanks though|
