What do you think it is? I've seen bikes with a rowing type action. The English (though far superior to my non-exestant Chinese) makes it hard to figure out.

All you have to do is route the chain from the top of the chainring directly through the rear derailleur, then from the top of the cluster back to the bottom of the chainring, in a figure 8. It may be a bit noisy, and shifting's a bear, but the only way to move forward is to pedal backward.
