Bike swaps....used bikes....are these prices for real? Helpderek2188

Does anyone know why used bikes seem to be so expensive? It seems like I can get something with full 105 for about $1000 (less if I go to supergo).

I would think I can get something a few years old for $500 or so, but I don't know where to go.

Does anyone know of bike swaps or a good place to find used bikes here in Southern California or online? The ads I'm finding have people trying to sell used bike for just about what a new bike would cost. Is it me or are there a lot of fools paying too much for used bikes?

Any other sites for used bikes?

There are bargins in ebay still if you don't need the name or if you can live with a 5-6 year old 8/9 speed bike with a threaded fork.

Some LBS sell used bikes and I've noticed the prices are better than ebay on 1-3 year old bikes, plus no shipping and a shop to stand behind the product. (unfortunately the $600 Campy equiped Zurich was 2" too small for me)

Others may not sell used but get used bikes in on trade and then sell them to other dealers or on ebay.

Check with your local LBSs and let them know your in the market for a used bike. They may be willing to notify you if they take something in on trade.

Pawn Shops have good deals on bikes at times(but watch out for that hot bike glow)
