I am in the market for a new road bike and looking to spend around $2,000. I have had my eye on the Fuji line, and the 2004s look real sweet.

However, a lot of real "roadies" recommend staying away from the mass produced bikes and looking at a Serotta, Seven, or other "hand built" type bikes. They say the cost will be about the same.

Is there really that much of a difference, and if so could you please explain.

Thank you

there is a post regarding custom bikes... My take is that you can find the perfect bike without it having to be custom made for you.

Not sure of stuff in the $2000 range, but a decent price point, especially if you go used. There is a lot of stuff out there. Best of luck.
