Rolf hub problem solved.Ken of Fresno

The front hub on my Rolf Vector Comp had been making a terrible creaking noise. I posted here and asked around for advice a few other places but wasn't getting anywhere. I ended up contacting Calvin at park tool. I try to use Calvin only as a last resort. He really knows his stuff, and he's great about quickly responding to emails. When I explain the problem I always make sure to tell him which Park tool I'm using, so he knows his advice is going to someone that supports his business. He suggested that it may be the press fit of the bearings in the hub. He was correct. I checked and both cartridges were a little loose in the hub. He advised using green (wicking) Loctite to keep the bearings in place. I cleaned the hub and bearings and then dribbled on plenty of the expensive green liquid. Worked like a charm. Now I have a front wheel that is like new and a better understanding of how it works. Thanks Calvin. You rock! And thanks RBR guys for your input. Just thought I'share for anyone else who may have similar problems with a cartridge bearing hub.

Cheers,
Ken

My Prima Vigors are so quiet I thought there was something wrong with them- esp compared to my Ksyriums.
